Slalom Deepens Partnership with Google Cloud to Accelerate Customer Adoption of Google Distributed Cloud (GDC)

Slalom, the global business and technology consulting company, announced a new strategic partnership to accelerate customers’ adoption of Google Distributed Cloud (GDC) by combining Slalom’s expertise in GDC with its industry-specific knowledge.

As part of its strategic partnership with Google Cloud, Slalom has developed a solution practice on GDC to best serve Slalom and Google Cloud’s joint customers. This practice is working collaboratively with Google Cloud’s product and GTM teams to rapidly take customers from initial inquiry to implementation and deployment of GDC at scale and will focus on two main themes: cost savings and new revenue stream creation. Specifically Slalom will support customers with: design and integration pattern best practices, data management and governance, devops and and continuous delivery enablement, industry-specific customization, analytics and AI integration, as well as training and change management best practices.

Google Distributed Cloud is a fully managed hardware and software product that extends Google Cloud’s AI-enabled infrastructure and services to locations outside of traditional data centers. It leverages Google Cloud’s AI technologies, security, and open ecosystem to scale while maintaining high service quality for customers in industries such as retail and manufacturing, which can run applications on-premises, thereby improving regulatory, connectivity, and latency performance.

By combining Google Cloud's proficiency in industry-leading distributed cloud technology and Slalom’s industry experience and advisory capabilities, this collaboration will provide customers with a holistic understanding of how to evaluate and implement GDC at scale.

“Google Distributed Cloud is positioned to significantly improve businesses’ ability to extract insights from places that were previously difficult to access, such as the manufacturing floor or in-store experiences,” explained Dave Cutler, general manager of technology enablement at Slalom. “Slalom will provide organizations with the expertise needed to successfully identify and deploy distributed cloud projects with Google Cloud technology, enabling long-term value for our customers and improving everyday experiences for their employees.”

One such recent implementation resulted in a semiconductor equipment manufacturer realizing significant advancement in operational efficiency, quality assurance, and data-driven decision-making capabilities. By leveraging real-time data from the edge, the company achieved substantial improvements in production processes while maintaining high standards of data security and scalability for future growth.

“We’re excited to recognize Slalom as one of our key collaborators for GDC. Slalom’s teams are known for cultivating deep relationships with their customers and delivering excellent, high value services,” shares Andrea Gallego, global managing director, go-to-market incubation, at Google Cloud. “Through working closely with our product and go-to-market teams, they’ve delivered high value to our customers and significantly accelerated those customers’ journey to Google Distributed Cloud. We look forward to collaborating more with Slalom and scaling customer adoption in a fast and friction-free way.”

Slalom is a 2024 Google Cloud Services Partner of the Year for the United States and is one of the first global systems integrators in North America to be recognized for having Google Distributed Cloud Expertise.
